Engine Bay

When we were absolute over land beginners our initial research told us the choice of engine for a Land Rover was either a 200 or 300tdi. This means it is a diesel, as a petrol is ruled out for the cost and availability of fuel, as well as its inability to wade as well as a diesel. Engines newer than a 300tdi came with a warning that the electrics and complexity meant a bush mechanic would not be able to fix it.

Dino has a turbo and an intercooler, both of which allow him to travel faster than a normally aspirated engine. The turbo kicks in about 55 mph, and Dino will then cruise at somewhere between 60-70mph. 80mph was recorded once.
