The Jogle - Starts 31st August 2008

As part of their attempt to raise as much money for VSO as possible, Ollie and Jenny are going to do 'The Jogle'. Jogle is an acronym for John O'Groats (to) Land's End. Ollie will be cycling the 1000 miles and Jenny will be driving Dino as the support vehicle, carrying, mainly various creams and lotions to keep Ollie going.

In April 2007 Ollie ran the London Marathon in aid of VSO, and on completion was challenged to beat that for the next charity event. The original idea was to have a go at swimming the channel, but apparently you need to be able to swim to do this, and so Ollie had to go back to the drawing board.

Eventually the idea of cycle from John O'Groats to Land's end was born. The direct route is a little under 900 miles, but Ollie will be cycling a little over 1000 miles, in 13 days, averaging 70 miles each day. Ollie has been training (on and off) since the new year to get his bottom ready. The time is near ....
