Friday 30th October 2009 - BAM BAM!

It has been a while since our last travel blog, and people have been asking us questions such as why are we traveling so fast through India? Why is Jenny so ill? Why are you applying for jobs? Well all will be revealed below .... Bam Bam.

A New Adventure

So the breaking and exciting news is that since the beginning of September we have known that Jenny is pregnant!! We obviously suspected before hand, and certainly next time Jenny is escorted off on her own to natural hot water springs that are a fertility aid, we will consider the implications further. But we're certainly not calling the baby Bibi Fatima!

Bibi Fatimata

It was as we crossed the border into Pakistan that we realised we needed some official confirmation of our suspicions, so in the dusty market town of Aliabad, near Karimabad, we popped into the Aga Khan Polyclinic, where we faced a nervous half hour wait. Once the result was confirmed we knew our trip would have to change somewhat. We were both ecstatic with the news, but unprepared for what this actually meant for us.

We have had several changes of plans since that day, all based on how Jenny was feeling and what she thought she could handle. She is as keen as Ollie to continue and finish the trip in Australia, but what we both don't know is how much can she handle in between?

Soon after getting the news Jenny faced an almost relentless six week bout of morning (well evening actually) sickness. This was also combined with several cases of Delhi belly for both of us, and we soon found ourselves holed up in mid ranged air conditioned hotels watching BBC news 24/7. This certainly wasn't the trip we had planned and we were probably a little miserable for the first time on the trip. This lead us to deciding to get the appropriate scans done ASAP and then heading down to Goa to relax. We first tried in Delhi, but we were a week to early for the 12 week scan, and so then headed down to Mumbai, got the scan done and took the fast Land Rover to Goa!

We now have rented a lovely beach front apartment for a month and are in the process of sorting out the next legs of our trip. The plan is stay is to stay a month in Goa, and then slowly head down to Kerala, where we will ship Dino to Australia. Whilst Dino is floating his way down under, we will fly to Thailand, where we will spend six weeks enjoying the islands, culminating in meeting friends for two weeks over the new year. From there we will fly to Perth, where we hope to end the trip driving the south coast from Perth to Sydney, where we will then spend a month or two with old friends of ours. For us it will be the perfect end to the perfect trip - and we are both very exited about the next jolly folly that will follow.
