Jenny and Ollie's Big Trip

Google

We have subscribed to a Google product, Google Analytics which keeps track of the visitors to your website, and also their behavior when on you website. On top of this you can see which sites have referred you, and what words people were searching on when a search engine sent them to you. Now if that doesn't excite you you must be lying in a coffin, six feet under.

From this we can see we are averaging about 10 unique visitors a day, much more that we expected. This has inspired Ollie to try and update the website more frequently, as well as maybe, finally, a bit of spell checking. Another surprising statistic is that we have had visitors from 19 different countries. The Internet is really a global tool.

Maps

Ollie has spent the last few weeks playing with maps, and mapping software and this has meant that the Jollyfollies crew are now quite far down the road of creating their mapping solution for the trip. The new PDA has proven a great success, including the software that was included with it, I-GO. This has mapping all the way to and including Russia, which is a nice bonus. Beyond that we are going to use Oziexplorer with maps that we scan in ourselves. A few practice runs at this has proved successful.

Dino

Dino had a few problems with his starter motor, which meant we had to take him into Brooklyn 4x4, which is our 5th different garage and the 2nd that we are happy with. The people at Brooklyn seemed very friendly and helpful and they were very fair in their comments and work.
At the end of September we will be attempting to do Dino's 12000 mile service ourselves, with the help of some fellow overlanders, who have very kindly offered to show us the ropes. Again the Internet has really helped us out.

Website

Due to Google Analytics showing us we do have visitors to our website, we are endeavoring to keep the website interesting and dynamic with regular updates. We have updated the Kit review with more reviews, and also added some piccies to keep the kids happy :)
